Gmail has always been the best and always will be!
Gmail did not exist prior to April 2004 and just removed the "Invite" requirement in late 2006. So NO, Gmail has not always been the best.

I like gmail much more than yahoo. Took a while to get used to the grouping, but now I really like it. Their app for my blackberry is much better than yahoo. Oh yeah, and gmail has a free fast SMTP that is very nice for those who integrate it into their mail programs.

My only complaint with gmail can be summed up in one word...folders. I still use my gmail over any other web based e-mail but I can't stand not being able to separate my mail into corresponding folders.

I always prefer Gmail kover yahoomail! Gmail is fast comparing to the yahoo mail!

The new beta mail service introduced by the yahoo is the worst ever service offered in the mailing field, dead slow some time never opens!

I don't quite understand google's thinking regarding the "labels" vs. folders concept. However, since I use gmail in it's "pop" form, I have my folders set on my desktop anyway. With essentially unlimited storage, I really like the fact that gmail (the web version) acts as a nice backup for me in the event I delete something I didn't intend to.

The Yahoomail beta contains a lot more features than gmail but it seems to take a long time to load.
Gmail therefore get the advantage.

Hi,
I think the Yahoo mail is more convenient than gmail as the latter requires a reference. The reason for I am still using yahoo is all of my contacts are there lot of my friends are using yahoo. In yahoo we need not require a reference to become a member.

Also many people prefer Yahoo, as most of their known ones are a member of this service.
