Default duplicate websites

Does anyone know how a SE identifies a duplicate website ?
For example if i am going to create a site and then copy all contents and create a parallel website with changing a few words. How would a SE identify it as a duplicate ?

I can only assume that when it crawls the duplicate website, it finds the same content and flags it as being a copy of the original which would have been crawled at some time in the past.

If you changed enough words then the search engine wouldn't earmark it as duplicate, though if the same keywords in a similar order were found then it would be inclined to believe it was duplicate content.

Done carefully, this process of duplicating websites can work, though you do have to make sure that the content on each site is not a near mirror image of one another.

Yes I Agree Cobalt.
Thats What How There Spiders Work. If You Have Lots Of Words Changed Then They Couldn't Figure Out About The Duplicacy Even If The Content Has The 100% Same Meaning.
Hope You Have Your Problem Resolved

If the website duplicate is exactly the same, the search engine will definitely find out it's a duplicate.
I agree with you guys that the search engine won't find a website duplicate if lots of words were changed.

How about those turnkey scripts? How will it behave in search engines? Like if I build a network of sites using those scripts?
