I'm sorry, but putting a rel=nofollow in your directory or links page just makes it useless. Well, at least for the sites that you are linking to.

I think 7-8 is enough. Otherwise the page will be in a mess.

Yes but it makes it a little harder to find sometimes what you are looking for. This will increase your Page Ranking

the max link i would prefer on a page would be around 10...not more than that
