I've always considered Adsense to be the best simply because it is run by a reputable company and has a huge user database - but - with all these tails of accounts being suspended perhaps unfairly I've been beginning to think whether it is or not? Does it pay the best? What do you think?

adsense is right on its place, but what do the publishers do when they are banned with the reason of click fraud whereas they even dont know whats going on..

I hear a lot of digg front page people being banned from adsense due to the rise in traffic and google thinking it fraud. Part of their TOS states you need to contact them if a rise in traffic is suspected...
