Default How to Use Article Submissions in Marketing

I haven't used article submissions in marketing my website. How does it work? Do I write an article then publish it on my site and also submit the same article to article directories, or should I write a seperate new article for article directories?

You can embed your links inside articles written by you and publish them to different article directories. You'll get promotion+backlinks+traffic to your website. It is strong way of marketing.

You have said it well.
Through article submission you receive free backlinks and therefore higher Page Ranking.

Its better if you rewrite the articles a little bit so that they aren't identical to ones you have on your site - people are more likely to publish them if they aren't already all over the net.

As sufi said, its a nice way to market, especially if you're on a budget.

A good way to use this method is to write up about 700 to 800 words of content about a particular subject making sure that it is unique (Use copyscape.com to verify)

Next you write a condensed version of about 500 words on the same topic. Make sure that both versions are showing as unique.

Next submit the second version to as many article directories as you can. Place a link to your home page AND a link to the longer version of the article in the author resource area.

This is an approach I hadn't heard about. Do you think that this will cause problems with duplicate content?

I don't think there is any problem while you submit your articles everywhere. There are many articles which are free to republish and many webmasters use them on their sites and they are doing pretty good so far. However as others have said that there should be some difference in articles which you are submitting to directories and which are on your site, I second that.

I have not used this method to promote my website so far.
I will have to analyse that a little more as it seems to be very interesting.
