How do you get your visitors to come back? I used to use a newsletter, and had moderate success with it, but I'm found it quite time consuming to prepare and had to stop.

I have an RSS feed, but it has few subscribers, so I'm relying on passing visits and search engines for my traffic.

What do you use / do to keep people coming back?

Well, that's a process called creating stickiness. Ultimately you have to target a particular niche and give people what they want. Typically the best way to get people coming back is to give them something no one else can, a lot of times people take the stance that content is king.

Yup, put some content on your site that'll make them come back, have extras, hold contests, give useful information, update frequently and tell them that you update frequently and to check back. works most of the time

Thanks for the responses.

I do update frequently, and the site is focused on news and articles so there's plenty of content.

I tried running contests, but that just attracted one off visitors after the prizes. Perhaps I need to make the competion require several visits.

I have a "Bookmark This Page" button in all of my pages. I think it really works fine for my sites.
