Default Would you add another language version?

Sometimes we can make many impressive things to send traffic to our sites, one of them can be adding another language version of our website to gain more "that laguage" speaking users. Would you do this? Have you tried it? Does it work?

It depends on your users target, the main function on your website i think.
I run a web design and hosting website company and I have it in spanish and english, it is really working for me.

I would do it if I was fluent in another language or could afford to pay a translator. Automated translation programs return lousy results.

It depends on nature of website. If I have a fansite of Barcelona football club which is Spanish then it would be a wise decision to translate it into Spanish and make a separate section for it. However if I have a webmaster articles related site then its not worth translating.

I'm pretty sure you can get free translation from babelfish. That's better than nothing I suppose, if you're not going to pay for a translator.

This can be a good idea, and can help you rank in search engines for "foreign" words.

Just stumbled over this site ( Cucumis.org ), it's a site that uses volunteers from around the world to actually translate your content for you, which means that it'll hopefully be right. I've never personally used it, but, I figured I'd post it in this thread, maybe some of you will find it useful.

I think there is a big gain in adding additional website languages to your website. I am going to be doing that for a game I own soon so that it will get more people to stay. The reason for this is the internet goes all around the world and just putting it simply not everyone speaks English so due to that fact. More languages means more people who will actually know what is happening or going on when they go to your web page.

I wouldn't see the point of adding another language except if you see a big demand for it. Like, if your site is about something that interests a lot of people that speak different languages, then I say, go for it.

I don't have a website to tell you I tried it and it worked, but I think it might be to work. Many people don't understand english and would like the sites they frequently visit have their language support and pages. You can even attract more visitors to your page by doing that.

I would do it if a user requested it or at least make a section in their language. Just to make it easier for them.
