These are some of the many ways to earn revenue using AdSense or other similar programs on your forum.

Sky Scraper-
This lets you place an ad on the left/right side of your site. Depending on the type of ad, this could get you a good amount of impressions and clicks.

Inline[my personal favourite]-
This MOD lets you place ads after x amount of posts in each thread. You can run as many ads as you like. They're rotated with each refreshed page.

FAQ: AdSense

Q. Is the amount of money I make per click normal?
A. There's no way to tell. Only you, Google and the advertisers know how much money you're getting per click. Every site, rate, etc. is different.

Q. How do I make more money?
A. Try fooling around with the placement and colours of your ads till you find something that works. It may take a while but it'll eventually be worth it. Also, promote more. More people > more impressions/clicks > more revenue.

Q. How do I avoid getting banned?
A. DO NOT- click your own ads, promote your ads, ask for people to click your ads, participate in autosurf programs, run more than three of the same type of ads on the same page, run ads on pages such as PM, Register, Memberlist, etc.

Q. I got banned. Can I get my account back or sign up again?
A. If you only have one site or one AdSense-ready site then you obviously can't sign up again. Luckily for you, AdSense gives second chances.

Extra- With AdLogger you can check if there's anyone committing click fraud. It allows you to see the amount of clicks they've made and shows you the clicker's IP.

Do not download any phpBB MODs that aren't from phpBB.com They could contain bugs, viruses, etc.

phpBB is not one of the most powerful forum tools around , but it gets the job done and if i remember right you can add ads even between the topics , link ads

There are other ways to make money from forums that might work slightly better though - forums tend to be high on repeat visitors, and they aren't likely to click ads after the first few times.

You could look in to forum sponsorships, long term deals where you advertise a product or service and they pay a fixed amount. If you can find something relevant to your board, and you have a good, busy forum, advertisers may be willing to pay more than you would be getting on a CPC basis.
