I have found forum signatures not to be that good for me for traffic etc

I do think it's just me though as lots of people say that they find it a successful method for them.

I think for a forum signature to be a good source of backlinks and traffic, you should join high traffic sites and make considerable number of posts. It pays also if your text signature is catchy.

Could you please share what sites you have been using? I know GameRenders - Your Source For Free Gaming Renders has a pretty good marketing, but I would just suggest for designing sites.

It work for others and not for some, so I think it all depends on your website, the way you manage it.
