Overall, you are going to get much better results from paid directories. The only time to consider a free one is when it is brand new and it shows strong potential to be strong in the future. Well promoted and popular free directories list too many sites to give much if any juice to your listing. The other ones are not promoted enoough to do anything for you. Paid directories have both the promotion and exclusivity to give you real link value.

I prefer free directory as they are free. So they attract lot of users. So its Page Ranking will become high automatically that will help our site. Go 4 paid ones only if you have lots of money!
