As soon as you setup your directory, you can earn money. You can post launch specials at different forums and sell links cheap, I'm sure you'll get few sales. Also after you get Page Ranking, you can make real money from directory by selling sitewide links.

My directory starting to create revenue the day it was started. For the long term success I have reinvested all of the revenue back into it so I have not made any profit yet.

Well, it's not easy if they don't have Page Ranking value. First thing you should do is trade links.

The market for link directories is so oversaturated at this point that any money you WOULD make would need to be reinvested in buying links for yourself to obtain a higher Page Ranking so that more people will buy links on your directory. It's a giant circle.

I think that it will depends on the Page Ranking you have and also the speed at which you achieve it.
Futhermore if you have a unique idea for a directory then you can make money pretty quickly

I think you need to wait until your site gains a good Page Ranking before you can make some good money out of it.

Page Ranking ranking is definately a must plus your hard work counts and without it you cant earn anything

if you go mu way then it will take one whole month for actually earnign the dollars initially you have first establish your self and then do the rest work
